Bodyworks was founded in 1999 by Beth P. Johnson.

Beth graduated from the Medical Massage Therapy program from The Virginia School of Massage in Blacksburg, Virginia. She completed 610 hours of training, is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist, and a member of ABMP.
